Boteko Tapas & Petisco serves typical Portuguese food but with a modern and refined presentation. It has a capacity for 130 people and also organizes events. "Boteco or botequim: these terms originate from the Portuguese word 'botica' and the Spanish word 'bodega', which in turn derive from the Greek word 'apothéke', meaning deposit. In Portugal, a 'botica' was a deposit or shop where provisions and small items were sold; the same meaning is attributed to the Spanish 'bodega'. In Brazil, the 'boteco' or 'botequim' became traditionally known as a meeting place for 'bohemians', where one seeks a good drink, cheap snacks and a good, uncommitted conversation". Boteko Specialties: Francesinha bolo caco, Ovos rotos, picapau, stuffed mushrooms, stuffed cornbread, garlic shrimp and the preguinho with cheese.
